Measure, Track, and Analyze Your Time
Taylor Pearson, author of The End of Jobs, shares his approach to dividing and tracking your time successfully to get the most out of your week. Read on for more information from his piece.
- Use a calendar to define how you want to spend your time; divide your work into ‘manager’ and ‘maker time’ (time for emails, calls, etc. vs. your creative time)—color code all your activities to clearly define them
- As your week pans out, update the calendar to reflect how you actually spend your time, then break it down into categories and see if you hit your time targets
- Now that you can review where your time goes, you can adjust it to move your focus to where you want to spend it better
