Coffee’s Benefits in the Fight Against Cancer

Anahad O’Connor, from The New York Times, shares expertise from the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) regarding coffee as a protection against cancer. See below for my summaries from his article.

 

  • Declared “possibly carcinogenic” in 1991 by the W.H.O., coffee has had a bad reputation for too long now, despite more than 160 billion cups being drunk daily
  • From recent studies by W.H.O., experts have released research which now suggests it can protect against two types of cancer
  • Three to five cups of coffee a day is relatively unharmful, and this level of consumption might reduce certain chronic diseases too
