Why You Should Avoid Pre-Ground Coffee

  • We grind coffee, rather than use the whole beans, to let the flavor components and oils out that create our lovely cups of java
  • Coffee oils are extremely delicate and easily contaminated, once you break the shell of a bean you expose these oils to taint
  • 15 minutes after grinding coffee loses 60% of its aroma and the CO2 that helps the oils diffuse into the water during the brewing process, so for great coffee, grind just before you brew
